“I am grateful to have been introduced to Stepping Out.
It is with strong, caring, effective support of my case manager who has supported and encouraged me in all areas of my life that need to be addressed.
I have come from 2 evictions only weeks apart.
I was struggling with financial stresses on top of mental health issues, which created physical problems. It felt like a never-ending cycle.
I had nowhere to go and no idea what to do to gain secure, permanent, affordable housing.
My case manager and I worked together. She was and is fantastic support. I knew I could not have done this on my own.
I am now happy to report I have a home. It is affordable and permanent.
My health is improving both mentally and physically.
I find interests are slowing returning and I’m setting goals.
First is to finish writing my book and I would also like to enrol in part time study perhaps an Arts Degree.
I have been fortunate enough to speak on many occasions around Australia and on a world platform to raise awareness of Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse.
I will continue to share my story in the event. It helps motivates and kick starts other survivors.
People struggling don’t have to feel they are alone or abandoned, lost and scared.
There is help.
It takes strength and courage to ask for help.
Keep asking!
Keep asking!
Keep asking!
Don’t fall through the gaps.
Don’t’ give up!
Don’t give up!
Don’t give up!
You! I and others;
We are all worth it!!!
