Recent public events have highlighted just how profound the issue of CSA is in our society. Five years in the making, the final report of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse shocked and appalled many. In those five years, the Commission received 42,041 telephone calls, 25,964 letters and emails and held 8,013 private sessions. Since the publication of the final report, some of the stigma that surrounds CSA has finally been broken, with increasingly more survivors coming forward to share their stories, privately and publicly.
For the past 30 years, Stepping Out Board Members, employees and volunteers have worked with, and amongst, CSA adult survivors. The scale of the CSA epidemic, now brought to the greater public’s consciousness, is something we have known about for years. We are the experts in this field, and committed to providing service and support for CSA survivors.
To help us continue to provide this valuable service please donate whenever and whatever you can. And if you are not already, we welcome you to become an official member of this wonderful organisation that will play a vital role in more and more survivors’ lives over the coming years.
